Repeater

  Wednesday, 31 July 2002

Next problem. I understand that each of these entries should have a comments button enabling (still potential, I'm afraid) readers to respond to any of my ravings. I haven't. Why not?

I've been playing with themes, and I keep coming back to this one. As I say I nearly like it. I dislike it less than any other I've tried. I'll just have to do my own I suppose.

OK I'm starting to feel confident now. You edit everything in the browser!

And I have navigator links to the left of me! Also I tried another theme. It was horrible. I almost like this one.

Okay, I managed to use Shortcuts to enter a URL. I'm starting to get this. You edit everything in the browser. I'm not actually getting hyperlinks yet. Why not?

No, I thought maybe I was using the wrong root file. In Frontier I only ever used one. Radio has several and I'm not sure yet how it works. Must sleep.

Nothing seems to be working as far as the glossaries go. Maybe I'm too tired.

#Tour, "Tour", "Tour de France

No that didn't work. What am I doing wrong? I know Radio dumbs down some of the Frontier techniques and the #glossaries directive (is that what they are called? I've forgotten so much) is not exactly where I expect to find it. Oh and before Ian Goss picks on me, I know I am using foot marks for apostrophes; I tried to use real apostrophes but they didn't render either.

Hmmm, let's try this: "Tour de France".

Hi ho, etc. I'm trying to use BBEdit in the way I have done in the past with Frontier. So far it hasn't happened for me. The last post has the word "Tour". This has displayed exactly as I typed it. It was supposed to render as the Tour de France, "Tour" being a shortcut. I clearly have more to learn.

I've just taken a break to watch the final stage of the greatest sports event in the world; ie the "Tour" on SBS TV, who do a great coverage with limited resources here in Oz. The Aussies have done well; we hoped for better, but Lance Armstrong is such a freak. Not to mention he has such a committed team behind him.
