Blog Portals in the Fall
I promised meself that I wouldn't write about bogging per se, it is too self-referential. Writing about why we blog, what blogs are about, etc. etc. is just boring to me. And so here I am, of course, breaking my own rules. Just this once. I Promise.
Constructing a blog is like building a house, but a house with no locks on the doors. Anyone can enter and wander around. So there is an element of transparency here, there are no secrets. And the links are like little escape hatches, leading to other worlds of magic, like this one, for example, or if say, real leprechaun watching interests you, zip over here.
Are we back now? Blogging can also be therapeutic. From clearly explicating my previous feelings of being in limbo, from laying it out on the table of my blog house, an unexpected result emerged. The gift - clarity has emerged. I am moving forward, the direction has become clear. Of course it is not without risk, anything worthy is inherently risky. But I have a saying - "Only a person who risks is free."
Above all, a blog can be a portal not only to other worlds, but to a world that is created by the creator. And the question becomes: what kind of world do you want to create? And by extension, what kind of world do you wish to reflect? The inner worlds, the outer worlds, or both?
The blessed Wife-companion has gone to bed, and Kuan Yin, the Guard Dog of Compassion (see side bar) is asleep at my feet, big black head between her paws. Dark night has fallen. It is chilly outside, as the great wheel of the seasons turns inexorably overhead. Nostalgic and melanchoy Fall has come to this high country. I make a vow of renewal. I ask myself to make this vow everyday. I must not forget.
Breathing in, my path unfolds before me.
Breathing out, Blessings all around.
You'll never enjoy the world alright
Till the sea itself floweth
In your veins
And you are cloaked with the heavens
And crowned with the stars.
