Stallman in TCD
On the first day of my first year studying mathematics at TCD, the first lecture was given by Tim Murphy and it began with an explanation of the GNU project and its gcc compiler. Then he drew some lines of C on the whiteboard [causing teenage Amstrad 464 BASIC veterans like me to think "How can that work without line numbers?"].
That lecture was in the MacNeill Theatre in the Hamilton Building. On the 24th May, Richard Stallman is speaking in the same lecture theatre: http://ifso.ie/news.html
