BloggerCon 2003 is scheduled for October 4 at Harvard University. They have a blog that chronicles the conference's planning process and other useful information about the conference. The conference aims to cover blogs in art, business, journalism, education, librarianship, etc.

Upcoming RSS Presentation at GILS Conference!.
" I just got off the phone with Ray Matthews from the Utah State Library Division . You may recall that the USLD is doing wonderful things with RSS , especially in relation to their Government Information Locator Service (GILS) project . I am ecstatic to announce that Ray will be attending the 5th Annual State GILS Conference in April in nearby Lisle, IL, in order to speak about RSS! We both hope this will be an RSS wake-up call for libraries and government agencies and that it will help put ... [The Shifted Librarian]"
Thanks for the heads up, Jenny. I wonder how many libraries would like a news aggregator service for their patrons. Maybe this is something that can be integrated into the My Chicago Library portal.

Blogs in Education:
In its February 2003 issue, Technology & Learning has an article entitled "Writing with Web Logs" by Kristen Kennedy that gives resources for educators in using blogging in the classroom for writing assignments. In the print issue, this article runs from page 11 to page 14.
