Teach Model Coach:

CLS is now accepting applications for both prospective coaches and learners in its Teach Model Coach program. The innovative program, which was created to keep the knowledge base intact as librarians retire in large numbers over the next few years, has received funding from a National Leadership Grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.

SLA Illinois Chapter receives Grant for KM Project:

The Special Library Association Illinois Chapter recently announced that it has been awarded a $10,000 grant by the Special Library Association to design, create, and launch a Knowledge Management resource on the Chapter's web site.

Teri says: I think it will be a year or two at the very least before blogs become as pervasive as email. I also agree with some of my library colleagues across the state that blogs are really useful as a knowledge management tool.

The next blog workshops for librarians in Illinois that I know of is September 9 at the Alliance Library System. Its entitled "Portals and Newsfeeds and Blogs: Oh My!" and the instructor is Jenny Levine.
