On Monday I finally got news from Promise regarding my SX6000. Yes there is a confirmed problem between the Tyan Tiger S2466N-4M and the Promise SX6000 but it is Tyan's fault. Of course, they would never say it is their fault...
Their solution? Get a new Tyan motherboard. It works with the Tyan Tiger S2466.
Sure. I'll get a brand new motherboard because an interface card doesn't work... Hello? What they should have done is contact Tyan and ask when a new firmware solving the problem will be available. Meanwhile I have 6 WD1200JB sitting idle. They represent a pretty high amount of cash not being put to productive use... Oh well...

A lot of people are asking "Where were you on 9/11?" these days...
Well I was sleeping... I was on business trip in Tokyo and when the planes rammed into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon I was sleeping. It has been a bad day at work and I had decided for a quick meal in Akasaka then a long night of sleep. When I woked up on the 12th, I turned on the TV and tuned to CNN (the only english-language channel available at the hotel). They were talking about explosions in Afghanistan. "Business as usual for them" I said to myself. I jumped in the shower. When I got out of the shower, I saw the team at the CNN center recapitulating the day's events. I couldn't believe my ears. I rushed through breakfast then raced to the office. We then started watching everything we could on the BBC (MUCH better coverage than CNN) between the training sessions I was giving. I finally got to see the images of the planes crashing in the evening. It was completely unreal. That's all the impression it left: it's unreal, just unreal...
