Win2K3 Standard = 6GB?!. Think carefully about how you will partition disks for Win2K3. I had a 33Gb disk for WinXP and since I was unable to updgrade to Win2K3, I figured I would just use my 8Gb partition for the OS and put everything else on the 33gb disk. I mean, that was the standard figure for NT class OS's - 2 GB or so system partition. Wrong. Before, I knew it, Win2K3 was down to 12mb of memory! Yikes! I have pared down to the absolute minimum and I still have 6GB of the 8Gb full. I don't know where it's all going. There is really nothing but the OS installed now. I would have done it differently if I had thought this through. Now it's either really repave or live with it (I have about 10 hours invested into this already). Moral of the story: Think before you install. [Sam Gentile's Blog]
Microsoft is still breaking records in the bloatware category. If I ever install this beast, I'll give it its own HD...
