Why Perforce is Great #1 - No Sweat Administration

One of my 'hats' at work is Source Control Administrator (I know, I know, but someone's got to do it ;) ), and we use Perforce. So when 'upgrade' time comes around (like it just did - they released version 2002.2), I know its not going to be a problem - people can upgrade their clients (Windows and UNIX) as they want, and I can upgrade the server when I want and know that things will Just Work, no matter what order they happen in.

And sure enough, when I did the upgrade of the server tonight I scheduled an hour and it took 30 minutes. Well actually, it took 30 seconds to do the upgrade and the rest of the time to do the 'belt and braces' backups and checks (including a full tar-ball of the repository, which was probably a bit over the top, but hey.)
