VB.NET Futures.

We've all seen the list of features that are slated for C#.  At VS Live, they unveiled some of what's coming for VB.NET.

  • Printing looks like it's getting a whole lot easier with some classes that give you a more intelligent API.
  • XML Doc comments
  • Looked like they're doing some cool stuff to make it easier to build data-centric UIs (Drag/Drop a table from the Server Explorer to see automatically generated UI, easily change the look/feel of the UI and add a child table)
  • Some other new controls (XP-Style list view, Sound control, etc.)

And the big things...

  • Edit and continue
  • Support for generics

.NET Webservice Studio is pretty nifty. It allows you to test SOAP endpoints interactively; a great tool for developing XML Web Services. Makes a great gift! ;-)
