Four tents, three canoes, and many mosquito bites later, I'm back in Ottawa after a brief excursion through Barron/Achray area of Algonquin Provincial Park. Accompanied by friends and fellow alumni from Bishop's University (Ainsley, Alex, Annabelle, Erin, Julie, and Thomas), we spent a total of four days out in the wild checking out the scenery of one of Canada's many beautiful provincial parks.

There's something to be said about coming home. It would be fair to say that I never truly appreciated Canada - as much as I do now - until I moved to Australia. Viewing one's country from the outside certainly puts things into perspective. Nature scene like this one certainly aptomizes what pulls on this young Canadian's heart strings:
Another beautiful evening in Algonquin Provincial Park
It's easy to forget just how beautiful Canada is. One simply has to get outdoors and experience it. During our trip, we saw beavers, moose, a large variety of water foul, and a blue huron. And when the sun was low, we heard the melancholic call of the loon.
