DNA sculpture made with shopping carts. Very cool. via [slashdot.org]

Update: Apparently, my wife (who has more science in her little pinky finger than I have in my whole body) is against these public displays of scientific celebration since they don't encourage people to learn anything, but rather promote science as an aesthetic achievement and nothing more. Just thought you should know.

I suppose the point is valid. Suppose the structure of DNA was a big heap of amino acids...would the grocery store have piled a big, rusting, trash-heap of shopping carts in their parking lot? I don't know...maybe I'll do that in my front yard and then tell people that it's some sculpture of a protein. How about a benzene ring of milk cartons?
