Did anyone else think that the guy standing next to J Jameson in this Lego Spider-Man video look a little bit like a Lego Mo Rocca from the Daily Show? via [kinman]

Someone was asking me the other day for some details about an award that I won for the comic strip that I wrote with a few of my buddies while I was in college. So I was trying to find out the name of the award and stumbled upon Donny Ferguson's blog where he talks about a storyline we ran involving the College of Poultry Science at TAMU. Actually, he talks about an editorial he wrote for The Battalion but in the process he backs up a previous assertion of mine that the strip was actually, at least a little bit, funny.

I just got a spam message from Tom Jones!  Who would've thought that he would be peddling, "huge college parties on video. from wild spring break videoto crazy frat and sorority ganbangs!"

Could this be the same Tom Jones that sang such classics as "What's New Pussycat?"

The latest episode of the Seinfeld and Superman Adventures is online. If you haven't seen these you should. If all commercials were this entertaining, I wouldn't need TIVO (not that I have a TIVO, I just feel like I need one).

After watching a few clips on the show's website I knew I had to own Penn & Teller's Bullshit: The Complete First Season on DVD. The wife of course was a little bit skeptical, since she only knew Penn & Teller as the guys who piss off magicians by revealing how the acts are performed.

Needless to say, after one episode she was hooked. Penn & Teller travel across the U.S. (and possibly the world, but right now we have enough quackery in the good ole U. S. of A.) debunking psuedoscience, taking on poor politics that misuses statistics (vegans and anti second hand smokers watch out), and just rips religious con-men and swindlers a new one. The show is incredible! We ended up watching the whole first disc in one sitting.

Some of my personal fave moments were when they go to an alien abductee support group and watch in horror as some idiot blathers on about having an alien husband and three alien-hybrid kids. "I remember getting married. I think we had a really nice reception. It wasn't until the honeymoon that things started getting scary," she recalled. Penn & Teller sprinkle their magic and humor throughout the whole thing and make it really entertaining.

Also, if you're a fan of James Randi like I am, you'll be happy to know that he appears on the show, and even conducts an interview with P&T in the "Special Features" of the DVD. Randi takes a Nostradamus' fan to task for misleading the public on how accurate Nostradumus' predictions really were. All in all it is highly recommended.

InvaderZimWthoutStripes.gif Also, Andrea was wondering when I was going to mention that Invader Zim's First Season is available on DVD? Well, Andrea, there you go! For those of you who have never seen the show, I recommend you fire up Kazaa and leech yourself a few episodes, then run out and buy the first season. It is definitely one of the funnier cartoons out there.

There, now that I have mandated consumer consumption for the masses, my work as a good little capitalist is done.
