One of the things that the gang did while in San Francisco was head out to Wine Country. We toured some wineries in Sonoma and Napa. One of our fave wineries was Ravenswood
where we got to tour the vineyards and walk among the grapes and do a
cask tasting of their zinfandels. Below is a picture of the casks
in storage.

Of course most of the wine dialogue for the day was above my head. Still, we had an excellent tour guide at the Joseph Phelps Vineyards that went a long way towards educating me about the true differences between French, Canadian, and Australian growing styles.

While it's not something I would want to do every year, visiting Napa
and Sonoma gave me a much greater appreciation of the science and art
behind the wine industry. If you guys get a chance to go, you
should really jump at the opportunity.

This is just too cool! My Dad pointed out to me that Continental has downloadable flight schedules
that sync automatically with PDAs and cell phones. That way, when
you are looking for an earlier/later flight you can have the necessary
info before you call.

Welcome to the future, baby!
