That is a very interesting perspective on something that has well over 6 million users. 2:42:25 PM |

I had given up on Radio Userland as it was quite buggy - what do you expect of a piece of software that does not get upgraded/patched on a regular basis? Unless, of course Radio Userland thinks it has a flawless piece of software...hmm.. I wonder what's their secret?

Expediting .NET GDK library for Ent Int Server (Revisited) Beginning of February, I had posted a thread 'Expediting .NET GDK library for Ent Int Server' in the Groove DevZone forums. Last thursday night at the CT .NET Developers meeting, I saw ClientSoft make a presentation of their product 'ServiceBuilder' that is based on a .NET platform. If there ever was a way to fit Groove with corporate legacy systems - this would be it. By the way, I do mean legacy - CICS, 3270, FEPI, vt100, MVS, IMS, etc... Mainframe applications that are older than the current programmers who maintain them. 490 of the F500 companies still run these apps which number in the millions. 5:23:59 AM |

The amazing HONDA advertisement My thanks for Mike Coughlin for letting me know about this one. Here's the "fantabolous" HONDA advertisement that has taken the advertisement world by the cogs - FLASH 6 version, QuickTime version and some write-ups. It would be great to see some software company come-up with something similar - "Isn't it nice when software just works".

The Corporate Blog Is Catching On Today's New York Times has an article with a subtitle (in the index page) - 'when the blogger wears pinstripes'. It's about corporate CEOs blogging. Tim O'Reilly and Ray Ozzie are cited in the text but I can't envision either one of them in a pinstripe, can you? 7:50:44 PM |

A brief break in weblogging A client project that demands due diligence is going to keep me away from weblogging to the end of the month. Will try to put in a post or two. 9:12:25 PM |

GToolBox launches GXcel The Groove Gurus, Ashok & Roomy have launched GXcel. This Groove tool has 'wowed' all those who have seen and worked with it. Rumor has it that even the Great Wizard of Beverly was impressed. 6:53:48 AM |

Regarding Spam - you can't win'em all The Controlling the Assault of Non-Solicited Pornography and Marketing Act of 2003 (aka CAN-SPAM) has its shortcomings [eWeek]. Then there is/was (still being lobbied), the "Spam Tax" which is/was in response to Unsolicited Commercial E-Mail (UCE) aka Spam and that has International ramifications [InfoWorld]. I say, leave it to these guys to solve the Spam problem - after all, their work still lingers after decades and they need not be lobbied either with special interest groups (SIG). 11:16:54 AM |
