Travel on Sept. 11 won't be business as usual [USA Today : Front Page]

No kidding, dude, people in my office are driving to Pittsburgh this week instead of flying. From Boston. But I have to say I can't blame them that much as they were both traveling last year on Sept. 11 and their families were frantic.  1:06:26 PM  permalink

Apple launches latest "i" software. At Apple Expo in Paris, CEO Steve Jobs releases the iCal application and announces that new Macs will only be able to boot up in Mac OS X, starting in January. [CNET News.com]

This is about Apple's new "iCal" program. We just downloaded it and it SUCKS. Sorry to say, but it really does. It's the worst thing we've ever seen. I don't know what they were thinking. Or if they were thinking. Maybe it was a 10-year-old's class project or something, in which case I'd give him/her a C+.

It's like a cake made out of feces that you dropped on the floor, according to Rob Reed. Sure, it's broken, but that's secondary to the fact that even if it wasn't broken you wouldn't want it anyway.  1:05:30 PM  permalink

Oh, I forgot one other thing - we were just going through money and I was giving Rob a hard time for spending $10 on lunch yesterday because I only spent $1. Then we came across the $80 I spent at the hair salon and a receipt for $19 for a cardigan I bought at H&M, so I had to shut up.  1:01:24 PM  permalink

Rob is reading an article in Wired Magazine about how mega-rich people are bastards who don't pay their taxes. Meanwhile we poor schmoes end up footing the bill for everything.

We need a new Robin Hood.  12:25:36 PM  permalink

By the way, the other two times I got pulled over were when I was working in Tazewell, VA for ASP. FABULOUS. But hey, no tickets. Don't ask me how that's possible.  12:04:52 PM  permalink

So last night I got pulled over under suspicion of being intoxicated for the third time in my life, all three times of which I was not intoxicated and hadn't had alcohol anytime recently.

Last night we had to drive out to Rob's work because this morning we couldn't go into work because we had to take Billy to the vet's for x-rays. More about that later.

But anyway, he had been working on some people's computers and they were still in his office so he needed to put them back for them to use this morning. So it's about a 40 minute drive out there. I was driving out because he had already done that commute once. But it was pretty late and I was sleepy so I guess I was doing great stuff like weaving around. So a cop pulled me over and told me I was weaving and was I OK. Then I apologized and said I guess I was just tired. Then Rob said we would switch and he would drive. She took my license and registration and checked them out then came back and said we should switch drivers and I should be careful because tonight there was a football game (Patriots... I don't even know who won) and I wouldn't want to be mistaken for an intoxicated driver.

So I got in trouble with Rob Reed. So he got stuck driving the rest of the way there and then all the way home. Sorry Rob Reed.  12:03:28 PM  permalink
