Where is Smedly Butler? Amongst engaged family and friends we are having a little friendly debate on the mobilization for war on Iraq. Before we just leave it up to God, we are trying to sort out who is in the Sean Penn and Alec Baldwin camp and who are the new fascists. It seems also that you can be called a Nazi just as easily for resisting the war effort as you can for supporting it. Probably, as Ayn Rand like to say, "We need to define our terms." For my own self I enjoyed this slightly modified version of Benito Mussolini's personal definition of Fascism. The Dr. Suess .vs. Charles Lindbergh debate is also interesting to re-read for those who can take some pride in being called a "traitor" like Lucky Lindy. Bottom line for me though is, where is Smedly Butler when you need him?
North Korea Nukes?
Pat Buchanan says bring our boys home from South Korea and let the Koreans, Japanese and Chinese (free and enslaved) all figure it out for themselves if a nuclear Kim ll sung is good for the region. 9:25:08 PM |
