If Elected I will, over my four year term...
1) Tell the citizens of the 7th district everything they want to hear.
2) Promise them all they want to have.
3) Use county government as a tool to enrich myself and my friends.
....Whoops, wait a second that's the other guys' list. Let's start over...
1) Be accessible to all residents of the 7th district.
2) Vote against all tax increases. (Always explaining my motives)
3) Vote against all bond requests. (Capital improvements should be funded out of savings from general operating budgets.)
4) Vote against all economic incentive handouts. (I would consider being a LENDER of last resort.)
5) Reduce tax and regulatory burdens uniformly so that people and businesses are encouraged to locate in Guilford County without the need of county taxpayer assistance. (Existing business and residents should not fund the newcomers.)
6) Pursue a full audit of all county budgets and work for a zero based budget process. (The recent "discovery" of 78 commuting cars for employees in the county system, 41 of which have now been quickly eliminated, is just the tip of the iceberg)
7) Outsource county work functions to private businesses in the areas where appropriate. For example 10-20% of county maintenance work could be outsourced over a four year period without staff reductions beyond normal attrition and population and tax base related work growth.
8) demand better explanation on the operating costs and accountability of PTAA.
9) restore individual property rights eroded by the comprehensive plan.
10) Support any efforts to address problems in the Greensboro Police Department through the County Sheriff's office as opposed to receiving unconstitutional oversight from Federal law enforcement agencies.
I will ...
1) not concede effective county commission power to unelected and supra-county committees such as the newly formed Yadkin/Pee Dee River "advisory" committee.
2) not allow the government school board taxing authority over the citizens of Guilford County.
3) not fund the deviously misnamed "school choice plan."
4) not use the power of government (taxation) to convert private lands to government lands.

1) generation of this If elected, I will... list was inspired by a commentary from Greensboro Booster.
2) note that I said "over my for year term" at the beginning. If I am too successful at my objectives voters can toss me out after four years and go back to someone that will run the county further into debt and raise taxes to meet everyone's desires. For those who disagree with my perspective, I would like your comments as to whether in light of current economic conditions, which are not expected to improve any time soon, it would not be prudent to ask the county to run itself for four years taking no more (or even less) a percentage of the citizens money than it currently does. Is this too much to ask?
