About Me

What I've been doing for the past 15 years. If you want my resume - feel free to ask.

2000 - Present

Engineering manager and architect at Zero-Knowledge Systems in Enterprise Products Unit. Built the development team and architecture for Enterprise Privacy Manager. Lead the team though development cycle from inception to product shipping and deployment. EPM was the first released product in its class.

Filed two patents in the field of architecture of privacy technologies (as co-inventor).

1996 - 2000

Software design engineer/project lead at SOFTIMAGE (subsidiary of Microsoft, then Avid). Worked on 2D/3D integration on DS 1.0 (non-linear video production system). Lead a team responsible for rendering toolset though several release cycles of XSI 1.0-1.5 (3D content creation system).

Filed two patents in the field of 3D rendering (as co-inventor). Got a few of Microsoft's “Ship-It” award for DS, 3D products.

1992 - 1995

Software engineer at M3i Systems Inc.. Implemented GIS system used to create high-precision road network and acquire geo-coordinates of postal addresses. The system was used by Hydro-Quebec and M3i to digitize large parts of province of Quebec.

Designed, implemented and deployed mission-critical module for National Control Center at Canada Post Corporation. The idea was to give operators the UI to link the shipping database with wall-display visualization module to present the up-to-date state of CPC sorting centers. I'm hearing the system is still in use.

Lead a small team to design and implement a prototype of distributed agent-based simulation system. Owned the relationship with CRIM’s Agent Research group. Based on the prototype M3i Systems successfully obtained government founding.

1991 - 1992

Student at Université de Montréal. Dept. of computer science and operational research. Hold BA degree in Mathematics and Computer Science.

Part-time programmer at Cimmetry Systems. Ported AutoVue from DOS to Windows, then to Windows NT 3.1. Worked on Windows-based Panoramic! from its inception up to first public demos. Both products were successful and are still being sold by “Quebec’s most profitable software company”.

1988 - 1991

Student at Moscow’s Institute of Electronics and Mathematic (MIEM) on applied math program.

Programmer at Moscow’s Space Research Institute in Image Processing Lab. At the time the lab was tasked with developing artificial vision algorithms for mars rover prototypes.  Optimized image processing algorithms (C). Added procedural animation capabilities to 3D visualization software (FORTRAN, Turbo-Pascal) and used this tool (a.k.a. dogfooding) to produce and sell 3D animations.

Learned Windows programming.

1987 - 1988

Learned FORTRAN on Besm, Iskra machines
