The E-tech conference is churning some good discussion. And, the bloggers are creating a resevoir from which us "non-attendees" can glean. Super-DMCA reportA sub-committee took no action on the Georgia version of the MPAA model legislation. An excellent turnout of telecommunications companies, local AEA and EFF reps, and individuals all spoke against the current version. The author of the bill stated at the beginning of the hearing that he did not want any action taken as he knew there were problems with some of the language. This session of the Georgia General Assembly ends tomorrow. However, the legislation remains viable for next winter's term.
