12 hours of Super Mario Sunshine

For a long time, I avoided getting a video game system. I don't even have any real games on my PC.  I've spent many an un-productive hour consumed with video games, so I generally try to avoid them.

Yesterday, I spent nearly 12 hours playing the Mario game on our new Gamecube.  The funny thing is, it didn't feel like 12 hours, but more like four.  Time dilation is always the problem with video games, and computers in general.   It doesn't feel like you've killed the whole day sitting iun front of them, but then you realize the sun has gone down and everyone else in the house is asleep.

The worst part of it is, I still can't get the game music out of my head.  It's so repetitive and happy, it's almost hypnotic.

Today, I'm going to read a book.
