Pressmeddelande från eLib: Sveriges största distributör av e-böcker, eLib AB, har skrivit ett samarbetsavtal med Finlands största distributör av e-böcker, Ellibs Ltd. Samarbetet innebär att eLib kommer att vara återförsäljare för Ellibs e-bokssystem i Sverige och att Ellibs kommer att vara återförsäljare för eLibs e-bokssystem i Finland. ”Vi kompletterar varandra väl. Genom Ellibs kan vi erbjuda våra kunder, de svenska folkbiblioteken, ett mycket stort utbud av engelskspråkig facklitteratur som komplement till vårt utbud av svenska e-böcker.” säger Fabian Fischer VD för eLib. ”Samtidigt kan Ellibs kunder i Finland få tillgång till våra svenska böcker.” Till att börja med kommer alla eLibs nuvarande kunder att få ett erbjudande om att ansluta sig till Ellibs system utan kostnad. Det kommer att ge många folkbibliotek en möjlighet att utvidga sitt sortiment med titlar de normalt inte har tillgång till. Project Gutenberg Consortia Center "The Mission of this center is to: Encourage the Creation and Distribution of eBooks [electronic books].In general, this center is focused on the collection of collections of eBooks, rather than the inclusion of one eBook at a time. Creation of such a Consortium Center brings with it some natural differences which should be obvious: such as the difference between doing new copyright research for one eBook at a time and dealing with the acquisition of an eBook collection that might contain hundreds or thousands of eBooks.
