I was browsing the PC World website last night and came across this article about the Dogpile Toolbar. I had heard good things about it and decided to download it to work in conjunction with my Google Toolbar. Well, it works fine, but the real surprise was what else is available on it. RSS feeds!! The scrolling news bar can be configured to capture any web site that has an RSS feed. Mine is scrolling my weblog headlines right now!! A simple walk-thru. 1)Download the Dogpile Toolbar 2)Open up my weblog 3)Click on the arrow to the right of the toolbar 4)Click on 'Add Content' 5)Click on 'Search Page' 6)Hi-Lite the feed and click on 'Add Selected' 7)You're finished!! Now to view my RSS feed, just click on 'My Content Page' or just put a check next to it on the feed list to view it in the scroll bar. You can do the same for any website that has an RSS feed. How do you know if a site has an RSS feed? Just click on 'Search Page'. If the page has an RSS feed, it will pop up (like my weblog did), if it doesn't, it will tell you. Try it out. I'm sure that you will soon be hooked on getting your news info from RSS generated feeds.
