Nobody asked me, but I'm going to post links to news sites that I read on a daily basis. I have them all in a Firefox tab and open them all at once for a quick daily review. In no particular order: New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal (well worth the subscription price), Honolulu Advertiser, Honolulu Star-Bulletin, Las Vegas Review Journal, Detroit Free Press, Detroit News, Anchorage Daily News, USA Today, Slate Magazine,  Livonia Observer. I also have a tab for for about 10 Foreign newspapers that I glance at occasionally, including the excellent Guardian Unlimited. Of course I also have my RSS feeds, which include blogs I read and other news feeds that I like to glance at on occasion.
Exalead is a new search engine that is getting a bit of buzz right now. It's good looking and offers a graphics view of the page results also. YaGooHoo!gle is a search page that shows the results of Google and Yahoo searches sided by side. A good comparison site. It changes it's name and address to Twingine on June 1st (probably some kind of copyright issue).
I saw this plastic package cutter on Gizmodo about a month ago and thought "what kind of idiot needs a special tool to open a plastic package"? Well, apparently my IQ has slipped considerably since then and I now have a large roll of duct tape on my left thumb trying to staunch the flow of blood. Get your OpenX here.
