I had a lot of windows / app's open today and switching from one to another was a pain in the butt, until the light bulb came on and I remembered the Windows Power Toy Alt-Tab Replacement. I know I've written about it before, but with this Power Toy, you hit Alt-Tab and all open windows appear in a pop up box with a small preview of the highlighted window. Easy to see and switch to any open app or window you like. This is a good Power Toy but nowhere near my favorite. Tweak UI is the one Power Toy that should come pre installed on all computers. There are many settings that you can adjust through Tweak UI but my favorite by far is the setting to get rid of the little shortcut arrows on the desktop icons. Just go to Tweak UI, click on: explorer - shortcut - shortcut overlay - none. That's it! All the arrows are gone! Take a good look at all the Power Toys and at least download Tweak UI!
