About The Addict

The Addict himself was born in the late 70s, raised on a steady diet of Macintosh Computers and Taco Bell, somewhere in Northern California. From a young age, he showed a clear affinity for technology, music and politics. Surviving through high school, he was set loose on the whole world in the middle 90s when he went off to Denison University to study for a degree. Failing that, he managed to acquire a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and Music.

Leaving Ohio for the greener pastures of Washington, DC, The Addict had hoped to find himself gainfully employed by an internet company doing video editing and media streaming. However, this was not to be, as the company, comprised of entirely weasels and losers, went under the week before he arrived on the scene. He spent a few weeks whining, a month or two temping, before working for a company devoid of all moral compunctions about mistreating their employees. He made their corrupt operation last slightly longer than it probably should have, for which he feels entirely guilty, and has indeed self-flagellated to make up for it.

Upon leaving the Evil company, he was presented with an offer he could not refuse, providing network and systems support for an education non-profit that was entirely Mac based. Such Joy! The Addict now spends his time making their system work, performing in a few choirs sprinkled around Northern Virginia, keeping close company with The Ankle Biter and also associating himself with the band of misfits more commonly known as the Beltway Bloggers.

The Addict, in addition to being addicted to Technology, is also addicted to NetNewsWire Pro, The Baltimore Orioles, The Oakland A's, MacSlash, where he is a story writer and part of the editorial board, and also to Choral Music, for which he cares deeply and sacrifices many of his hours and paychecks to.
