Going on at this moment a hearing on the Project for a New American Century (PNAC) in Brussels.

This is the kind of thing I would like to have on my blog exclusively. It's wonderful, it's great. This graphic book needs some peripatetic clicking. Enjoy.

ICH: "Over and over since Sept. 11, aviation and security officials have said they were shocked that terrorists had hijacked airliners and crashed them into landmarkbuildings."
But how come that some 10 months prior to the attack on the Pentagon of 9/11/01 a practice drill, 'Pentagon Mass Casualty Exercise', took place (on Oct. 24, 2000)?
AND
"Five months before Sept. 11, 2001, the officers responsible for defending American airspace wanted to test their ability to prevent a hijacked airliner from being crashed into the Pentagon, but the scenario was rejected by the Joint Chiefs of Staff as impractical, a Joint Chiefs spokesman confirmed."?
AND
(I'll continue to repeat this) not one fighter plane from any of the AF bases around Washington or New York, scrambled to intercept the hijacked airliners.

United Nations: "The Commission on Human Rights this morning adopted by roll-call vote three resolutions on human rights in the occupied Syrian Golan, Israeli settlements in the occupied Arab territories, and the violation of human rights in the occupied Arab territories, including Palestine.
On the question of the violation of human rights in the occupied Arab territories, including Palestine, adopted by a roll-call vote of 31 in favour, seven against, with 15 abstentions, the Commission reaffirmed the legitimate right of the Palestinian people to resist the Israeli occupation and strongly condemned human rights violations of the Israeli occupation authorities in the occupied Palestinian territory, including East Jerusalem. The Commission also strongly condemned the Israeli occupation of the territories as being an aggression, an offence against humanity and a flagrant violation of human rights. It strongly condemned the construction of the Israeli wall in the occupied Palestinian territory."

Apparently civilian deaths don't matter to CNN.

Both the previous and the present Dutch governments lied to parliament and population about the presence of WMD in Iraq. They had information that no WMD were present, nevertheless they decided to collaborate with the US regime and violated international and national laws and democracy.
Zembla puts the facts together. The documentary is in Dutch but there are so many interviews (with Blix, Scott Ritter) in English that everyone can follow the gist of the argument.
What is clear to me is that the difference between a Bush-government and a Clinton-government (or one led by socialist Kok, or christian-democrat Balkenende) is only cosmetical. Bush only expanded the madness that already existed.
Noam Chomsky calls Kerry a 'Bush-lite'. He is, but contrary to Chomsky I do not endorse Kerry. He'll probably continue the occupation of Iraq, but then with the help of the UN. Killing is killing, irrespective of who does the killing. For a real change vote Kucinich.
When governments lie and cheat to parliament, congress, the nation, democracy ceases to exist. After the thousands of deaths in this unholy war, democracy is the next casualty.
