What is life all about? My philosophy is that we are thrown in this world without our consent and consequently we should enjoy ourselves as much as possible to get our own back. To do that we have to change the negatives in our lives as much as possible. Hence this blog.
However, there are some things that are so positive and so splendid that they exist in their own right and deserve all the attention and credit they can get.
One of these is the wonderful Tasmin Little. She is a violin soloist and is so enthusiastic about her art that she is a joy to watch and listen to.
Ladies and gentlemen, your attention for Tasmin Little.
You can download her latest CD completely for free, with an audio and printed introduction by herself and even the sleeves to print and make your own CD.

Just to celebrate the successful move of my Radio weblog from my old computer to my new iMac, on which my favourite desktop images are the Kinkakuji or Golden Temple and the Ryoanji, here is a wonderful site with everything you want to know about the famous Japanese gardens.
Bowdoin College also has several Asian Studies podcasts (scroll down a bit). Also a project on Japanese scrolls.

HeraldDispatch: "What do Ava Maria, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, The Star Spangled Banner and the Japanese folk song, Sakura, have in common?
On most days not much, but these songs are just a small sample of the deep-and-wide repertoire of Hawaiian ukulele player Jake Shimabukuro, who has been taking the uke on its own wild ride."

Lyle Ritz is now recording his own music with GarageBand. And it's wonderful music. He is a master of the ukulele.
Listen to his latest release, No Frills. Also here. Available in iTunes (which I don't recommend because they charge 1 Euro for each dollar - they never heard of the 'free market' or exchange rates at Apple).
