The following are books that I've personally read and found very useful.

This is a book that I helped review the ADF Business Components material in, but haven't had time yet to review cover to cover. Avrom Faderman is one of the doc writers on the JDeveloper team who got the chance to contribute several chapters worth of ADF material to this book. Myself and others on the ADF team helped review it:

The following is a book I read over and over (while writing it) that others have told me has been useful to them in their work with Oracle and XML:

[Full Disclosure]: This book covers all things about Oracle and XML available in the 8.1.7 database and in our Java and PL/SQL XML Developers kits. It does not cover BC4J or the new Oracle9i Release 2 XML database features.
