Involved in follow on outreach for the Lunar Prospector mission communicating with some 2000 readers on the lunar-update list since mission end, July 1999.  Continued maintenance of the Lunar Prospector web site and the Space Projects web site. 

http://spaceprojects.arc.nasa.gov/Space_Projects/Index.html Maintenance and back up of file servers for SOFIA.  Conduct video conferences utilizing PictureTel video equipment and Polycom audio conference phones. Hardware and software maintenance for the Pioneer 10 spacecraft on an as required basis to support contacts with this venerable spacecraft still functioning since 1972.  Was originally brought on board to be the Data Vis Engineer for Lunar Prospector mission.  Responsible for writing programs to acquire, select, and move Lunar Prospector real time data from secure operations network to the http://lunar.arc.nasa.gov web site for use in Java scripts displaying spacecraft information in web browsers.  Maintained computers and peripheral equipment, modified hardware, and installed software on various personal computers.  Conducted tours of Lunar Prospector Operations area providing information on mission, instrumentation and data gathering.

 

March, 1996 to August 1997 -

Technical Instructor 2. Conducted technical training courses for Lam Products.  Training directed to Lam customers and/or Lam employees.  Ensured course material was reflective of current product features by working with engineering, technical support and manufacturing.  Interfaced with customers and functional organizations to develop course content specifications. Modified course content to reflect product retrofits.  Followed up with customers and employees to determine applicability of course materials. Assisted in training/cross-training other instructors.  Conducted system introduction, operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting classes on two plasma etch systems. Conducted on-site technical training classes of these systems.

AlliedSignal Technical Services Corp.

Senior Systems Engineer. Responsible for the development, installation, testing, modification, and maintenance of hardware systems and interface equipment supporting real-time and off-line processing of spacecraft telemetry and command data.  Equipment included frequency and timing systems, display terminals, low speed printers, digital tape processing equipment, time code translators, computer electronic equipment and systems handled by outside contractors. Conducted training and indoctrination on newly installed systems and equipment.  Wrote computer software for Intel 80x86 processors and Macintosh Quadra 950 computers using National Instruments LabVIEW software to gather, display, and analyze selected spacecraft telemetry data.  The Pioneer project completed its mission March 31, 1997.  I was part of the downsizing in March of 1996.

Direct supervision of Electronic Repairs for Airborne Electronics Equipment.

Material management of Operational Budget and procurement of required materials in support of EC-130Q aircraft.

Direct supervision of 110 personnel involved in Avionics repair in support of eight squadrons.  Utilizing Automatic Computer Test Equipment, Electronic Test Benches, Micro-Miniature Repair.

Responsible for Personnel Accounting (MAPMIS - Manpower and Personnel Management Information System) for NATTC's 5,000 (average on board) students.  Records processing and Transfer of 500 students weekly.  Electronic Course Technical Coordinator and Student Counselor.
