Ah, I just read the sweetest comment on my blog from a newbie..made me all warm and fuzzy inside (hot chocolate/marshmallowly warm inside) thank you Susan. Susan commented on my post about frustration with radio discussion board newbies. I still get frustrated with the questions but I keep going back to the discussion board to help out and I like helping too..but Susan, you have made it all worth while. Thank you for the warm and fuzzy feeling...and if I ever drive to Fremont again, lunch sounds great!!

I bought the sofa I liked..the red one..today...except its on backorder but I got to the store today and they were having an additional 10% off the sale price..wahooooo...so the total price without tax 629. The backorder is cool..its should be here in a couple of weeks..gives me a couple of weeks to figure out where the hell I'm going to put it...my house is about 800sq feet - if that...the couch is 40" deep and 89" long..which basically is my whole living room.

thanks for all the suggestions and comments and helping me decide :)

Choices...I'm in the market for a sofa..I could buy used but with the prices so low these days, I might as well buy new..I can afford about $600.00 for this new sofa and I found one I love..big and comfy and red and lots of pillows and red and if I could find a picture of it, I'd post it..maybe I'll go back to the store and take a picture.....its a little out of my price range but I can work with it in the next couple of weeks but here is the dilemna, I found one on the internet - same store just a catalog version that is cheaper, looks great on the site but I can't test it first...would you buy it? Just found this one at Walmart for $464.00..its cranberry..but I'm not sure if I really want to buy a walmart brand sofa...
the question is..would you buy something big like a sofa online or would you rather test the item and buy it from a store?
second question...know any good furniture stores besides jcpenny's or sears that are cheap? (in the bay area)

maybe its just me but the newbie users on the discussion board seem to be getting rude. Really if you aren't going to follow the advice given or at least try it, why bother asking? And if you finally do decide to let someone help you, at least pay attention and follow through with them....
And why can't they just post their damn url? It takes more time to have figure out which blog is theirs via a google search and its frustrating. If they want to be so secretive, what is the point of the blog anyways?
98% of us on the discussion board are volunteers, we have lives too but we generally like to help but if you are going to be rude, there is no point. If you aren't going to at least try our suggestions, there is no point.
I'm just frustrated with the lack of respect for people answering the questions, trying to help other people out. maybe its me...

long day and I can't figure out what I did all day and the pile on my desk only seemed to get smaller..I think it only got re-arranged alot :)
do you ever have those moments where you think "oh god" did I write something about anyone that is reading this blog? Someone that you barely know...
Today, the new guy at my work..told me that I should stay out of McDonald's parking lots...which means he read this blog..now today I wasn't that worried..I didn't think I wrote anything about him or anyone else at my new job...I really like everyone there..unlike my old job...I really love this job!! but reading back through a couple of post..damn I did write about him just in a general sort of way..oops.
Another guy at work is now telling me someone is "just a newbie" when they can't figure out there computer..hmmm, wonder where he got that term....
Moral of story..hmmm, don't write about people then tell them about the blog? I don't actually remember telling him about this blog but I did tell him about Radio Userland and that Radio or Manilla would be a good tool for our office...then again I did a search on his name and found his websites..so maybe that's how he found mine..since I seem to be the top search on a couple of search engines today..as long as no one from work discovers the other site...

When men gain weight around their middle, no one suspects they are expecting or even says the magical words "oh your expecting" but when a women gains weight in the same spot, everyone just assumes they are pregant? Honestly, before sticking foot in mouth...you might want to make sure that someone really is expecting...and why assume? I mean really if I was expecting..why would I take a new job?
McDonald's in Walnut Creek is cracking down on their parking lot...some guy tried to give me a ticket tonight..I admit I walked across the street but I also went in McDonald's to get a coke...this jerk told me, he wouldn't give me a ticket this time but next time I walk away from the lot, I would get a ticket...how stupid is that? Its not like anyone was in the lot and supposedly you can only park at McDonalds and not wander anywhere else for 5 minutes..one way to lose my business...what if my friend had gone into McDonalds and I had gone across the street? Not allowed?

note to self....never go to the mall again during holiday season, on a sunday or when you have a hangover (where did all those people come from?)
other note to self...do not plug any more stuff into the outlets...blowing a fuse is bad..especially when computer is on the same outlet. (I got a cool back massager thingy for my chair, my outlets can not handle another huge 12V power item on them..oh well, I can take to work for now..maybe when I get a couch, that outlet can handle the power?)
and bread making..pretty easy with a bread maker...although long process..should be done around the time I go to bed :) (yummy)
last note to self..when you have a hangover, stay home...do not attempt to shop for anything or drive or play secret santa in the office...(now I remember why I don't drink that much..ouch)
one more...call "r".....

I found this interesting article last night in PC Magazine about Blog Tools and Radio Userland was the third one mentioned and discussed. What I found interesting is that Radio Userland was mentioned as one of the blog tools available..there is a summary of features from various blog tools that is available for download here

The Christmas party was a success last night. Everyone loved the prizes...I got what I wanted (ok, yes I had an advantage..I bought them and wrapped them with a couple of other women from work but honestly I couldn't remember what was in a few of them but I did remember where the back massager I wanted was wrapped in). I got to know a couple of the guys I never get a chance to talk. The food was great, the prime rib was gone within minutes, the pork loin was great..rich food, lots of drinks....
The secret santa game...no one really knows me that well, I got two christmas tree ornaments, that were cute but not me..hmmm...think I really need to decorate my office soon..like today
Next year, we will have more time to plan instead of a last minute..oh by the way, we have christmas parties here and part of your job is to plan it...next year, we will have a band or dj...and the new president, said he would help with the planning..

If I had the time I'd write a book called "newbie tips" for Radio Users or maybe Radio Userland Newbie Tips or Radio Userland Newbie Primer (i think I like that title the best)...starting out with the basics....how to change the name of my blog, how to open my desktop website.. Rogers book, Radio UserLand Kick Start, seems to delve more into the technical site of Radio than a basic primer for newbie, first time computer user using Radio..I keep seeing the same question over and over in the discussion board "how do I change my name or my title of my weblog?"
I'll admit I haven't read Rogers' book...so maybe its intended for newbie users..and maybe I'll get a chance to read it someday..however I remember discussing the idea of a Newbie Primer for Radio with a couple of other people when I first started writing the newbie tips...but not sure what happened to them...

Radio Discussion Board has a new look but curious why they didn't add a short "how to post a message" to the "Discussion Board" heading. Personally I think it was/is a great idea...it would really help us help each other and it might help the support team answer questions too..(instead of anyone having to pull teeth out of the person with the problem)
Something like this (thanks to Rhye for the original suggestion): "If you can please provide your Blog URL, what you were doing at the time before you had problems, if any. Let us know if you have a PC or a MAC and what OS do you have? What browser are you using? Providing as much information helps in trying to figure out what the problem may be a) Tried to do this, b) Expected this to happen, c) But this is what happened instead."

I woke up this morning and realized that I really miss having someone to wake up with. I miss "d", I miss talking to him, I miss having his arms wrapped around me and I know that he isn't ready for a relationship but I do miss seeing him every once in awhile. I'm too busy with work to have much time for anyone else besides me and the cats...but still every once in awhile its nice to wake up next to someone, feel his body next to mine...and I guess at some point I'd like to have that every day. "d" if you read this, no pressure...I'm totally ok with what we have.....I just miss you.
The other day I realized that I'm not that old...sometimes I feel really old but I'm not. I wonder if its the weigh of my job or too many things going on it my life that makes me feel old. I've got to remember I'm only in my 30s and I still need to be young. One of my co-worker's wife is 30 and I saw her as being really young...but then I realized after talking to her lately...I'm only a few years older than her...
On that note....the new president at my job..told me I need to stop being a perfectionist...either he really just doesn't know me or he really doesn't know me...I swear...I am not a perfectionist...never will be, never want to be, never ever was...trust me, ask my mom about this one..and really would a perfectionist put a sign up that says...CAUTION, Clutter Test in Progress...I don't think so!!
The IT guy at work is history..finally took care of that..also taking care of the network issues..
The bathroom...everyone who has been following the saga, wants to hear the end, etc...I'm actually finishing it this weekend.. I finished painting everything that needs to be painted taupe. I got the stencil for the cabinets. I have to touch up the chocolate color and then put everything back together and then I'll finish the story.
ok..even update for this week/last week...gotta get some sleep...been a really long time since I've stayed up this late...or feels like a long time.. :)

somedays are like yesteryear in my mind winter days, rainstorms the feel of a lover's arm wrapped in sensous tenderness next to the fire A time to need, a time to want what wasn't there before and still isn't there today A feeling, a ghost of a lover's past wrapped in pain, wrapped in love wrapped in something that never was

My mom sent a funny email to me Monday night regarding my christmas wish list....."Where oh where can that little list be, oh where oh where can it be. No listee, no giftee!"
not such a little list but I swear I sent it to her Sunday afternoon but for some reason it didn't go through..maybe too many links for AOL to handle, maybe they thought it was spam..who knows...anyways, I posted my Christmas 2003 wish list here with hyperlinks and everything.

Blogs can be a wonderful expression of oneself and sometimes you ask a question and a year later, you get an answer, an out of the blue answer but an answer. "r", date two from the trials of dating series, left a comment about himself on the date two post..its great to hear from him again and yes, I still think he is yummy..but I never ever thought I'd hear from again...and I love the comment email notification feature...otherwise I would have never known how to contact him.
