Tonight I went as a gothic archangel to a Halloween Party, interesting night, no one recognized me at first and then when people realized it was me, they were surprise that I looked so good, interesting I guess my clients really don't know the real me and the costume started out with these goregous black and burgundy feathers and a black/burgundy wig but what surprised me is that I had all the other necessary parts in my wardrobe to pull off a gothic look, I even had the makeup except for the black lipstick I bought along with the costume pieces. Everyone thought the wig was my own hair, they had no idea that in reality, I'm a blond. Anyways, the before and after pics.

which look do you like? I sort of like the short burgundy/black hair and alot of people tonight commented that I should go for that look but I don't know about dying my hair and cutting it off, I tried that once. Then again, maybe she's just my alter ego.

wow - my body basically told me to stop working yesterday, broke out in a fever and was so exhausted, missed the exit off the freeway to Walnut Creek, got completely turned around and today finally slept for 15 hours..wow, guess I was tired...and I only worked a smidgen today - replied to a few emails, sent out a fax and worked on website updates for Dogzilla Cafe - which reminds me, go check it out and if you're in the SF area, go visit and then vote for them on any one of the voting links, better yet, write a review - you can send it to me or them.

My horoscope today: weariness and low biorhythms may have you feeling a bit weak and listless today, JULIE, and you're likely to want to stay home in bed rather than get out and go anywhere. This goes against your normal inclination, so you might be tempted to bite the bullet and get out in spite of your malaise. However, don't fall into this trap. Get some rest, so that when you absolutely have to go out you'll be your old self again.

Yea, lately normal tendencies, are to keep working despite being sick and that's how I get sicker, so today is definetly a day of rest, catching up on some things but not working too hard especially since the cats has taken over the chair and I only have a very very small space to sit.

Found some great music - Lacuna Coil, their website's kinda of funky but the music is good. And Gypsy Soul, didn't realize I had this music, found it on my computer and I love the music and just checked their site, I guess they're local..cool.

motto for the day: fake it til you make it

You would have never known that I have no idea how to use a Mac today except that I couldn't quite figure out how to use the keyboard shortcut for copy and paste - actually I have no idea how that works still. Today I worked on a Mac computer and Quickbooks, interesting concept. If you don't know what you're doing, fake it, it will eventually get easier.

-----
this week has been horrendous, I've been working til 2am, getting home and getting to bed by 4am and not getting much sleep. I'm still fighting a bad bad cold and its getting worse, this weekend is definetly sleep.

-----
house hunting put on hold

-----
I think it might be time to hire another person, I'm exhausted, I have 7 bookkeeping clients and 5 IT/CRM Database Clients and only one other employee who is only part-time since she's in school. Maybe its time to hire another full-time bookkeeper to help with something or other and oops, forgot, including my own accounting (8 bookkeeping jobs) or i need to figure out how to manage my time better. I'm exhausted and need a day off.  Just one day off would be nice

-----
Lauren is so adorable, I took a break the other day, stopped by my sister's for a sec but then my sister said she really wanted to change her clothes and do her hair before the inlaw's came over and could I hold Lauren for awhile..oh yea, definetly, as long as you keep talking to her, she doesn't cry that much. Ah, I want one.

----
fyi, if I give you my number for tech support, please only call once and not before 10am. I swear I'll call you back as soon as possible

----
although, there is one thing I want to play around with just because ITS NOT ACCOUNTING....but someone needs to take a picture of the guitar fret first and let me know :)

----
night all, its been a long week and its almost over

so..i'm all excited that I might be able to buy a house but damn after dealing with lenders and just seeing what I can get qualified for..currently nothing over 400K and still with a mortgage of 3K which I know that I can not afford at this point nor do I want a 3000 mortgage, I mean I still want to eat and occasionally go out.

One lenders is extremely helpful but what I don't get is my credit score is 720 and I still have a high interest rate and what happened to interest only loans. I'm trying to get 100% financing but I thought they had special things for first-time buyers

And anything between 250-400K is like a condo. I live in a condo and I have no idea why someone would want to buy an apt (essentially what a condo is) so they can have someone live above or below them. I want a home, a real home with a real backyard (a real backyard for the kitties to defend)

And one lender just pissed me off, apparently she doesn't know how to read a credit report. She told me I had a 3000 payment on my credit report towards my bankruptcy payments - I told her no, the bankruptcy was discharged 10yrs ago - she asked me to prove it. I told her to fax me my credit report - and wow, it clearly states on the credit report that it was discharged...dropping her as a possible lender

sooooo...maybe i wait another 6 mos or so, see if I can get together the 10% down towards a 500K house - a decent house in a decent neighborhood and see if I could possibly get a mortgage payment down to 2500-2700 a month - that's more realistic especially since I have business expenses and bone up on my mortgage terminolgy, so I don't feel like the lenders are walking all over me

Have you ever had one of those days when you start out doing something relatively simple and it takes all day? What started out as a process to simply move juliewiggins.com to a new location because I really hate the geocities ads since they skew a design completely ended of being a whole redesign of the site and move to a new location. The enter main page is still on geocities because no matter what script yahoo feels like putting into my code, it doesn't affect the click through to the other pages...check out the newly redesigned juliewiggins.com

I have a client that is holding a $7200 payment because my original estimate(which btw has a disclaimer that these are estimated hours only) is only for $3800.  And now phase 3 and 4 of the project - I doubled what I think I might spend on the phases is about $7500.00 is probably going to be rejected...

all work has stopped on this client until they send payment..but it sucks, I spend all that time onsite working - I was working with them, they saw what I was doing and now they are holding payment, WTF? From now on, any projects over 1500, I'm getting at least a 25% deposit on the project before I start any work.

Although if I'd write up my remote maintenance agreement, this client might get a $25/discount off the hourly rate for phase 3 and 4 but then again, they are witholding payment, so no discount til they pay up.

And website clients..i've had a few bad apples, deposits from them too.

i'm proscrantinating..i need to clean the house badly, do laundry, work on this project and yet, I'm taking tests online..

The Hogwarts Sorting Hat Test

Gryffindor!
The Sorting Hat has spoken! You've got 76 House Points!

Head of House: Professor McGonagall

House Colors: Scarlett and Gold

House Animal: Lion

Gryffindor made his choices of students based on Bravery. A little knowledge, however, did go a long way with him. You are a very brave person indeed, always willing to help out a friend, or innocent bystander who is in need... or anyone who is in need mostly. I salute you. Gryffindor is known mainly for it's heroic members... HUZZAH! Great deeds await you in this house.

Some students from Gryffindor house are Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley.

someone asked me today if I stopped blogging because I haven't posted anything in the last couple of weeks..whew, life has been so incredibly busy with the business that I've gotten sick with the flu. This weekend is just rest and taking it easy although I do have a few projects I need to finish. I've gotten several new clients in the last couple of months, pushing the chaotic nature of my business into full steam ahead...if only I could figure out how to cancel out the chaos of my life then it would be perfect but then again since I do that for others..cancelling their chaos, it stands to reason that my life would indeed be full of chaos in a good way.

The tigerpaw consulting is booming as is the accounting consulting yet I still find time to help out the newbie here and there and I haven't forgotten about the request for help with the monthly archives just haven't had time to sit down and figure out how I implemented it and I want too, I need to figure out how to move my monthly archives into a yearly archive page.

A new newbie tip coming soon..how to reinstall Radio beginning with the basics, I want to add screenshots to the tip, so it will be forthcoming soon

New things I've found..I was looking for IM lingos trying to figure out what KIT stood for and came across this interesting program called IM Speak - where you can assign voices to IM

And a friend was telling me about Jabber - he tried to install iChat which looks so cool but :( its only for Macs, hmm, maybe another reason to get a mac just to play around with some cool features...actually as soon as one of my client's pay me, I'm getting a Mac then maybe the newbie tips will have mac versions as well. Never fear, I am still a PC girl, most of the programs I work on are only PC based but some programs I want to learn are only Mac based. I'm thinking about installing Gush since I can't install ichat. Although how many IM clients does one need?

and dating..who has time? I barely have time to blog let alone date :)
