i was cleaning up my emails and came across this:
enjoying chaos, they shout passing through the night those black riders of the storm caught in a whirlwind of magnficient doom spreading the flames of butterfly wings
here's the weird part - I don't know if I wrote it or not, it might have been something I saw that I thought was cool or it might be something I wrote - it sounds like something I'd write, has anyone seen this before?

why doesn't my QuickBooks 2004 work with my new server? huh? anyone else have this problem? anyone know how to fix it? Oh, it would help if I told you the problem probably - everytime I tried to open it, it says I have restricted rights and need to be given standard user rights - here's the bizarre thing - I'm a Domain Admin - I have full rights to the network and have added myself to the power users group, to the local administrator group and it still doesn't like me. I've deinstalled and reinstalled the program twice. I know that this program works with SBS2003 because two of my clients have the same version of QuickBooks 2004 Why doesn't it like me? Apparently QB2004 is a legacy program and there's a workaround for legacy programs which I found on Microsoft's website which is to use the "Run As" right click feature and run as the admin on the local computer - it works, I'm good although I am curious why the Admin and the Administrator on the local computer are two different users and why even though I have both of the users in the administrator and power user groups + the domain admin and my user on the domain in the power users group, QB2004 is still not happy and QB doesn't have a clue either, I've already called.
and how come my database program won't work with my new server - everything I need to work on doesn't work - its so time for bed. Tommorrow is another day and I will troubleshoot the problem then. I figured it out with tigger - apparently the admin and the administrator are two different users on my local machine, so I put the admin in the power users group and the administrator group on my local machine and tigger is back in action except I need to attached the databases.
and what is with all the spam email I'm getting with this blog? Doesn't Radio or Userland or someone filter this crap out? Hoodia is definetly spam. Hair Products, Scorpion By Travel - its all spam - does anyone work at Radio anymore?

The third date with Its Just Lunch setup - OMG, these people do not get me at all!!!!!! I think I'm actually paying about 200.00 per date to find great new places to eat rather than finding someone that I might be somewhat interested in having a conversation with let alone see again. And maybe I'm paying that much to constantly have to tell the people that work there where/how far cities are from one another in the Bay Area?
Today I walked into the restaurant and saw this guy sitting at the bar and I just knew it was him - do you ever wish you could just walk back out and pretend you didn't see him? I wanted to, honestly, I prayed that they wouldn't lead me over to him but of course they did. He looked like Vince Neil - no, not the cute Vince Neil of the 80s, the old Vince Neil now. The reason this guy has a baby face is not because he looks younger but because he's a little overweight and I'm not saying that I'm not but I also don't look my age and I don't sweat. And he doesn't want kids. He's not a music composer as I was told, he sells musical instruments and teaches guitar to kids. And oh, his hair didn't move - what is it with guys in their 40s that use hairspray?
Oh and this was the guy that they said was perfect for me. Who are they kidding - I don't think at this point the match maker has a clue.
Lets see to sum this up:
Booger Boy - he tried to sell the fact that he makes lots and lots of money and has a messed up cat with issues
Immature Boy - who likes to shoot cats with guns, gets up at 6am to watch sports and doesn't work
Old Vince Neil look alike - doesn't want kids, is way too old for me, hairspray and just not anyone I would normally walk up to and want to meet.
I think I might have better luck just walking down the street at this point or going back and dating the 20-30 age group again. As soon as this is over and I've gotten my 6 dates over with, I'm writing the corporate office.

Do you ever feel like you just want to step outside your life for a day or a week just let it all go for just a moment. I've been sooooooo tired lately and cranky and I think I just need a vacation, go lie on a beach somewhere and sip tropical drinks, mmm sounds like heaven. I have no motivation to do accounting or work or do anything, I just want to sleep. And no, I'm not depressed, just tired, just need a break, maybe its stress but whatever it is, I need a break. Which goes back to that whole idea I probably need to hire someone to help me out with this business and yet, I'm too tired to deal with it. I am trying to get motivated, I really am. I bought myself roses tonight, hell if no one else is going to do it, I might as well. I'm missing something - oh yea, that would be that thing called "motivation" And here I am yawning again - its time for bed. Oh where oh where did that little thing called motivation disappear too? come back into my life. I almost don't have the motivation to finish my thoughts, too tired. Too many things going on at once. I feel like I'm not giving my all to my clients and that sucks, I really want to but just don't have the energy.

I was thinking about redesigning this site to something simpler but I'm not finding any inspiring pictures tonight, I feel like its too clutter and its need to be maybe a two column setup - one idea at a time

Back to the problem - how to find a guy that's like me
My brother in law suggested a book club which is stupid - I have never seen any single guys my age at a book club only older women and yea, they might have a son or two but they're not going to want to be set up with their mom's friends
Habitat for Humanity - this might be an option
Volunteering at the SPCA or ARF (although I don't know if I'd meet potential guys there but who knows)
where do I find programmers, arts, music guys?? any ideas would be great

Its Just Lunch Second Date, well at least I got someone I thought was cute but as soon as he opened his mouth, I thought to myself - nope, not one thing in common. When did I ever say that I was a sports fanatic - I don't watch sports, I don't play sports, I'm not into snowboarding, skiing, wakeboard, boating, football or soccer. I can't remember the last time I went to Tahoe during the winter for any reason, I don't particulary like the snow. I still don't know who they are matching up, but it sure ain't me. By the time the waiter asked if we wanted another drink, I was ok, i need one and alot stronger than the first, fortuantely the guy had left the table for the bathroom.
And you're wondering what got me so upset, I'll tell you. This guy made a comment about the stray cats in the neighborhood that like to sleep on his boat cover and how he got his BB gun to frighten them off. WTF? Flash back to the ass in my old neighborhood that shot my cat with a BB gun because he was in his yard and btw, my cat is blind in one eye because of a jerk with a BB gun who didn't like my cat being on his property. So I asked him why he didn't like the cat on his boat cover, he didn't want the cat hair on it. What a jerk! He then went on to tell me how cat owners are irresponsible if they let their cats on other people's property. They are cats, they roam, that's what they do. Dogs would do the same thing if people didn't leash them or keep them in the house. They are free spirts. He told me you could kick a dog or beat a dog and they would always come back to you - huh? What kind of man beats a dog and expects it to come back?
And then he kept telling me about this story of a girl that has 15 cats - I don't have 15, I only have 5 but this girl apparently works for the spca and brings home the unwanted cats..awww, she has alot of love to go around, I'd probably bring them all home too if I worked for the spca which is one reason I don't work there.
He kept telling me about his boat and how his precious boat is more important than any animal's live, get a life, seriously, there is more to life than a boat.
Where are these guys coming from? Just because you have enough money to pay for a service to match you up with people doesn't mean you have to be a complete ass - oh, it just dawned on me the reason these guys can't get dates - they are asses.
So then he tells me about his backyard that is full of trees that shed leaves constantly. Ok, for one they are trees and leaves fall to the ground, that's how trees work. Two, rake them into a big pile and then jump in the center - its fun. This guy freaked out, he said there is no way he would rake them all into a big pile and then scatter them. He's a very neat, organized, anal person - he said it, I didn't. But I can tell you right now, nothing in common, cuz I'd rake them into a pile and jump in them with the cats. Or most likely, I'd just let them stay where they fell.
Apparently this guy is looking for someone fun and artsy - artsy people tend to be scattered and messy are at least in my experience, I doubt this anal neat freak is going to be happy with a scattered, messy, animal loving person like me.
Also I want someone that is computer literate - seriously, if you have no concepts of computers, you're never going to ask me how my day was because you don't understand it. I spent 90% of my time on the computer and I want someone that gets it, among other things.
I'm calling the headquarters of its just for lunch this week because this branch of Its Just for Lunch sucks, sucks in a big way. I honestly could do a better job matching people. I'm also going in and changing my profile, for some reason, they think I want to meet a sports fanatic who doesn't like animals, who is a neat freak and doesn't know how to relax - honestly I can do that on my own. I would definetly not recommend this service to anyone.

You know people that call other people stupid without really knowing them in my book shall be forever messed with. This new network guy that one of my clients hired must have a short man complex (now don't get me wrong here, I have dated short guys and there is nothing wrong with them in general but this guy really has a complex or something) I asked him 3 weeks ago to make it where the general users do not have full access to the system folders on the network - that's just asking for trouble - he finally took care of it after my client asked him to do it - ok, maybe he didn't know that I have the rights to ask him to do it but the original setup was that system folders were not available to look at - they were hidden shares as were many other shares like the accounting folder but I digress.
My request - make the system folders unviewable by the general population, make them read/execute and read only and apparently that includes list folders and contents.
So what's he ask me? have you seen a network where that was the case?
Well duh, yes, all the time. The original setup was that way. And this is why he will forever now be messed with by me.
My actual answer: well yes actually - you have it set up that way on the folders except in the past I've hidden the shared folders with a $ sign after so that no one know they are there and that way, the read/execute/list/read permissions still work but no one can see them. These folders were hidden before you started working on our network (i'll admit I had to ask another network guy how to do this because I couldn't remember how it worked but little network guy doesn't need to know that part)

Another blog..oh no, you're wondering how the hell I have time for another one right? It started out by showing someone how to use blogger (its free) and I ended up creating another blog and I wanted to show her she could customized the layout of blogger templates without showing her my adult blogs since one she's my employee and two she's religious and three those blogs are between me and certain people only..anyways, i created another blog on blogspot - whispercave and maybe it will get me movtivated to work on my book and I bought the domain tonight because it seems that my life is moving towards taking more time for me, to be creative, to start that next path on my journey where ever it might lead me. New links to whispercave on the blogroll - there is whispercave - my space and whispercave - the blog (i'll probably move some of the blog entries from myspace over to the blog, then again maybe not)
side note, very ethereal inspiring music to work on whispercave, azazeldt

**update** well I still can't afford to buy a home just yet, well I could but my mortgage would be about 4000 per month and that ain't happening. I want to still have a life.
And I asked the property managers today what was going on - they are exchange students only here for 2 months and the vans that are picking up and dropping off loads of them - well they all work at Marine World - 2 shifts which is why they are all wearing the same outfits
Back to the house, i'm disappointed because I really did like that house and I was envisioning everything I could if I had that house but the timing's not right. I need to grow this little business a little more where I could actually afford a 4000 mortgage not that I want that but if I continue to grow at the current rate, I should be able to come up with a sizable down payment that would allow me to buy a house where I want and still have a low monthly payment...so we wait.
New goals:
- Continue to grow the business
- Take time for me, hire someone else if needed and advertise
- Then the house will come
- A man in my life would be nice but that will come when the time is right too
Relax, let the magick happen...just gotta remember that.

my neighborhood has gotten weird, its time to move on, hopefully I can get financed for a house. I saw one I really really really liked on Saturday back in my old neighborhood that I lived in for 10 years, its being offered for 574500 - its a 2 bdrm, 1 bath with a huge backyard - I was standing in the backyard envisioning ok, i need a pool and I could add on a some point and build a little cottage in the back and a master suite someday and maybe a hot tub, although I didn't let on to my realtor that I really liked it...hopefully I can get financed for that much and no one else likes it.
I did see another one I liked in a cute little neighborhood that has 3 bdrms and 1 bath + a bonus room that could be a bedroom for 569000 but I didn't love it as much
Anyways, back to the weirdness where I live, the property managers aren't allowing people to sign more than a 3 month lease anymore and there are a bunch of kids moving into the empty condos - not normal kids either, they all where the same clothes - khaki slacks, tan shirts and blue windbreaker type of jackets. Every morning a van picks up a bunch of them and every night, drops off a load and picks up another set of them and they way they walk, they follow the path straight and narrow. You know most people cut across the parking lot to get to one side but these kids follow the curb exactly. I feel like I'm living in a cult world or something. They don't talk to anyone but each other. Its weird.
Its definetly time to move on, some thing weird is going on here. And yes, I'm asking the property managers what is going on around here.
