Walking Distance - Pedometer = Gmap-Pedometer, this is interesting way to figure it out but it doesn't really account for all the steps I walked especially since Bart escalator only seem to be going the wrong way every time I take bart - guesstimate that I probably burned about 400 calories yesterday just by walking which is really good because I consumed 1840 calories yesterday - oops, way too many for what I'm trying to acheive here. I probably need to get an actual pedometer to see what I'm burning daily. In counting my calories for the last few days - I eat anywhere between 1000-1840 per day, depends on the day - although it seems if I'm not going out to client sites, I generally consume about 1200 calories per day - so its definetly gotta be that I don't exercise enough - time to get out there and go hiking.

I did talk to the centre director today and told her that there is no way I can keep on their schedule of eating every 2 hours for one I'm not that hungry. She asked what I had eaten so far today - well when she called it was 2pm but I got up at 11.30am so I wasn't even hungry at 2pm and I was in the car when she called - I don't have a microwave in the car, some of my clients don't have microwaves on site and carrying around frozen food just doesn't work for me. She said that I should eat every 3-4 hours - ok that's a little more managable - after about 4 hours of sitting and programming, I usually get up for a snack or water or something - stretching too and that she is really sorry that the first consultant didn't listen to my concerns about my schedule and that the whole point is working with each individual person's schedule/needs. Some days I work til 4-5am in the morning and get up really late in the afternoon, some days I get up at 8am and head out the door - I need something I can eat in the car, on the run or carry in my bag that's not frozen and some days I work a 15 hour day and stop and grab something unhealthy to keep going (usually something with sugar). My first thought this morning was coffee - I cut back on the sugar a little and didn't eat a fruit to make up for the sugar intake. The milk thing - I'll just not eat the nonfat yogurt - that should make up for it anyways, nonfat plain yogurt - ick.
So far the food - the pizza looked a little skimpy - didn't try it. The chicken carbonara was good, little skimpy on the chicken but otherwise really good - my cats liked it. The chicken stuff sandwich - umm, ok, not great, I think the cats liked it more than me. The oatmeal breakfast bar - that's delicious - I need those in the car with me. Tonight, I'm trying the salmon.
And tommorrow - exercise, taking Bart instead of driving. Although last time I check, Bart doesn't have microwaves on it either.
The only thing I can say so far - I'm tired, really really tired but that could be the lack of sleep too.
oh yea, what is with the margarine thing? I refuse to eat margarine, butter is so much better for you anyways. And their cereal packages - I have way better natural cereal with less calories and less fat and better for you ingredients - I'm substituting that one.
In general I think it will work out, some of their food choices - ick and some of my food choices aren't bad ones, I think I got off track a little with my schedule and eating really unhealthy - hopefully this will get me back on track with correct portions and healthy eating.

Today I signed up for Jenny Craig because I was inspired by Monica who has already lost 17lbs on the Jenny Craig diet. Way too go - if she can do it, I can do it. The only thing I know that I can't give up food wise is my milk - I love reduced fat milk and nonfat milk is ick - why bother, might as well drink water if you're going to drink nonfat milk. I also no way in hell will give up my 2 cups of coffee in the morning - I can cut down on the sugar but not give it up completely.
The only thing that really bothered me by the Jenny Craig consultant was she really didn't listen, she'd ask me a question then not wait for my answer. Or I'd ask a question and she didn't answer but went on to another topic. And she kept asking me about my feelings - I'm not going to tell her my feelings, I don't even know her and she wasn't listening anyways - damn good thing she wasn't the reason I decided to do this for myself. And she kept telling me all about the wonderful chocolate treats - now I know she wasn't listening, I told her right off - I'm allergic to chocolate. And why doesn't anyone think that cookies-n-cream bar is not chocolate - what planet are they on? And realistically, I think losing 10 inches on my waist is a good goal but she said I'd be a stick - huh? having a size 46 waist is not good
I still am not really sure how this diet is going to work with my schedule. And eating every 2 hours - don't know how that's going to work - I sit at the computer for hours and not even realize 4 hours have gone by, do you think I'm really going to remember to eat every 2 hours? And I can't really carry frozen foods with me all the time since I don't have a microwave in the car - so how is that going to work? And no she didn't answer any of these questions for me - maybe next appt they will.
Another thing that kind of bothers me about Jenny Craig - is that they tell you that all the meals are planned but they aren't really - you still have to go to the grocery store and get your free foods and if I had time to go to the grocery store, then I would eat healthy and you still need to count your food that you eat out based on their criteria and cheese counts as a meat - don't get that really - isn't cheese good for you?
so anyways, going to give it a try - I'll try to remember to eat every few hours. And I totally forgot I decided a weight loss category theme that is all blue - totally cool. Goal weight is 160 - 50lbs to go.

I've lost inches, lots of inches, wow, lots and lots of inches. I'm finally under 200, yeah!!!
April 2007 Measurements: 38 44 46
End of June Measurements: 36 38 42
Shit, I hit the wrong button and lost everything I just typed out. Let see if I can remember what I just wrote out....
I'm don't seem to notice the weight loss in the mirror but I have noticed in my clothes - my old tshirts which used to be tight are huge on me, they feel like they belong to D. My jeans are huge, I have one pair that was my skinny jeans which now I have to use a belt to keep on, maybe its time to buy some new skinny jeans. D's favorite tee which I never gave back, its like I'm swimming in it now, doesn't fit at all. Hopefully by the end of the summer I'll be 1/2 way to my ideal body/weight size. At the rate I'm losing the inches, maybe by the end of summer, I'll be down to ideal size with the weight coming off too...

the diet isn't that bad, actually its really not that hard to cut out breads, pasta and potatos and rice. Sugar on the other hand is a little different, I'm allergic to artificial sweetners and splenda gives me headaches but I've cut down on my sugar intake - no more cokes or energy drinks, no more starbucks frappcinos, no more starbucks coffee. I only have my two cups of coffee in the morning with sugar and usually a sweetened ice tea in the afternoons, otherwise I'm drinking water.
The only thing that was difficult was last night, I wanted to come home and make something quick and easy - usually for me that's a sandwich but no bread means that I actually had to cook something healthy at midnight - easy aspargus and mushroom omelet was really good and since I'm not one for following the order of food, breakfast at midnight works for me and it didn't take that long to make - just need to rewiring my thinking a little, prepare veggies on the weekend, so at night when I get home, its quick and easy to make something healthy.
And who knew that ricotta cheese with a little vanilla and a little sugar is good, really really good, taste like ice cream
Update: I've already lost two pounds, yeah!!
