WRITE A "LETTER TO THE EDITOR"

Are you concerned about an issue?  Then consider writing a letter to one or more of the following newspapers. Some papers will not accept letters of more than 200 words (call & ask!) -- but letters of 50-100 words work better for getting a single point across. All require your name and phone number.
You can send your letter to more than one paper. So send to all the papers in your county/region.
If you email, personalize a message for each paper rather than broadcast emailing to a whole list. Broadcasting might get you in one paper out of five, personalizing (one name in the "TO" box per message) might get you in four out of five.
Remember, be brief, make one point well, stay positive, no personal attacks, urge a specific action, avoid preaching (state your view, not God's). Your audience is --  first, the editor; second, the informed reader (who will be better informed and more thoughtful after reading your letter); and third, legislators and public officials who read the Letters to the Editor to sample public opinion.
