Bird Managers

A Wall Street Journal, Cubicle Culture feature, this past week, compared manager-types to birds. While the article "made up" the bird-types and names it used, I am thinking about the comparisons to "real" birds.

Blue Jays are aggressive, loud bosses that pounce and swoop in to scatter the masses.

Rose-breasted Grosbeaks preen in the windows of the watching world, giving themselves credit for all that is accomplished.

Hummingbirds drive staff crazy, buzzing around all the time, looking over your shoulder, perching for just a second to remind people of what they already know.

No offense, of course, to some of my favorite birds. Offense intended to the managers who act as described.

More bird comparisons?

P.S. Happy birthday to me.

Warmly,

Susan
