"Time Poverty" is the name of my current chapter in The Wizard of Ads. Roy H. Williams cites a study in which American business owners nearly unanimously agreed on the most important factors for employee advancement. First, was the person's ability to separate the important from the trivial - to prioritize. "Employers don't want their people wasting time on that which is not important, according toWilliams.
The second most highly valued characteristic was the ability to get tasks done quickly. Williams quotes J. Paul Getty who said, "Find a need and fill it," in response to a question about why he became so rich.
Williams asks us how many ways we have offered to save our customer's time. "Getting people's money is easy once you have persuaded them to give you their time. Win the time of the people and the money will follow."
