Starting With a Blank Page

Happy June. I love the first day of a month because it opens weeks of new opportunities for accomplishing all sorts of interesting and exciting things. It's like starting a chapter in a book. The month has yet to be written. It's like a blank page. I can choose what to make of the month.

Of course, part of the month makes me. I have work and consulting commitments. I have ongoing goals to develop another website and write books, but for now, June stretches out in front of me in all her glory.

Today's quote, compliments of Roy H. Williams, from the Wizard of Ads (p. 135), concerns Thomas Edison. In correspondence to his salespeople, he wrote in a memo:

"The art of selling goods is as difficult to acquire as any other art. The proper methods can be acquired only by a multiplicity of actual experiments, and the one who tries the greatest variety of experiments will become, finally, a master of the art."

And remember, too, Walt Disney was fired from an early job because of a "singular lack of drawing ability."

Enjoy your glorious Sunday.

Warmly,

Susan
