Since there are many people here who have not met me face to face, I should point out, for the record, that my name IS NOT Jon. My name is Jonathan, and everyone calls me that. Jon is an oft-accepted shortening of Jonathan, but it is pronounced identically to the name John which has a meaning different from that of my name. I prefer, then, not to be called Jon, but Jonathan. While it is true that my handle is jonvw, it is meant to be read all at once, not as a first name with initials.
