The Whys and Hows of Weblogs
Dan Gillmore writes, "Weblogs are a unique form, native to the Net. They combine hyperlinks to other material and personal observations. I've been doing a Weblog since October, 1999.
My approach is to post a variety of items -- news and commentary -- on this Web site as they come across my field of vision. These items are typically much shorter than my column in the paper, but they usually include some perspective. I update the page at least once a day, usually more."
In late January this year, I sat in several meetings in which co-workers, bosses, or course instructors described my research and writing assignments for the next several months. In most cases I wanted to jump out of my seat and say, "Oh. Oh. You just described a weblog." It wasn't appropriate for me to do exactly that. Instead, I decided that I would start a journal and ask folks to come and check it out.
I comment on education, educational technology, small business ownership, and anything else that seems related, in this "Learning(e) webLog."
