A couple of nice quotes from Ward Cunnigham regarding test driven development (made in the Yahoo agile-testing forum under the topic Testing and "smooth pace" on 2/29/2004):

"TDD makes for a slow and plodding week, so much so that by Friday you are amazed to be done."

"Javadoc is a perfect example of something that must be kept in sync. If you've written a lot of javadoc for a function, you're not likely to push responsibilities into or out of it even if things will code out better if you do. Its ironic that so much effort is devoted to javadoc in the name of downstream maintainability when just making the program half the size does so much more."
