Falconer calls for debate on victims
Home Office Minister, Lord Falconer, today called for a debate on whether victims should have more of a say in the release of prisoners.
Speaking at the Parole Board Annual Lecture, he talked of the importance of ensuring that the needs of victims sit at the very heart of the Criminal Justice System and discussed arguments for and against the views of victims being taken into account at the time of an offender's release.
