The "mystery picture" that links to this page (from the Sept 5, 2003, entry) is a detail from an X-ray published in 'L'Echo des Savanes. Retouched only for the colour, it shows a shampoo bottle which had to be removed from somebody's backside.

The patient's explanation: "It was the usual stupid thing: I slipped in the shower."

"The introduced objects can be original: a stemmed glass or even a hamster," Dr Nicolas LeMarchand, a proctologist at the Raymond Bellan Hospital in Paris's XIVth arrondissement, told the magazine. L'Echo des Savanes (monthly, 3.80 euros; no website) shows plenty more in a four-page spread.
With apologies to the 'Echo', I bring you one of them.

Up

That list of the 'Top 10 Anal Accidents' was compiled, Christophe Sandot's article says, on the basis of a web survey. By whom and when the survey was conducted isn't disclosed.
But should you want a translation of the list as claimed by the magazine, here you go:

1 - Glass or ceramic bottles (32 times)
2 - Vibromasseurs (15 times)
3 - Glasses or cups (12 times)
4 - Batons or broomsticks (10 times)
5 - Electric light bulbs (7 times)
6 - Tubes (6 times)
7 - Bananas (4 times)
8 - Cucumbers (3 times)
9 - Torches (3 times)
10 - Pens (2 times)

In the top left of the scanned page, that's a torch. "All I know is that this guy should have put batteries in the torch and put it in the other way round if he wanted to see something," says a medical worker in the caption.
Across the bottom, left to right, a gold chain, a ketchup bottle, a revolver, a knife and an electric light bulb.
Other objects mentioned include tennis balls, apples, ice-picks ... and for the rest you'll have to buy the mag for yourself.
