Algemeen Dagblad [Dagelinks]

Mobile Burn managed to get its hands on one of Sony Ericsson's Z600 cameraphones, which is essentially Sony Ericsson's T610, just with a clamshell design. They say that it's "damn near perfect," keeping many of the best features of the T610 and improves on it with a better screen and substantially improved reception. No word on when this might be out here in the US, and the handset Mobile Burn reviewed was actually intended for the Malaysian market. Read...
The iGesture.

FingerWorks sells two types of products. The iGesture pad is about the size of a standard mouse pad. The TouchStream keyboard functions like a regular keyboard, but also incorporates the same gesture-sensing technology, eliminating the need for a mouse. The gesturing interface works like this. To open a file, a user rotates a hand as if to open a jar. To close a file requires the opposite rotation. To cut a piece of text, pinch the fingers together, and to paste, flick the fingers outward. To zoom in, expand all five fingers, jazz-hands style. Contract the hand to zoom out.
The article doesn't say what gesture the iGesture uses to send a file to the trash, but we're betting that it's something like flipping the bird. Or at least it should be.
Read

David Davies: WAP RSS Browser Radio tool. David has created a new tool for Radio UserLand: "What it actually does is to use Radio's aggregator data from all my subscribed-to favourite RSS feeds and convert that to a set of WAP files. I can then browse these files with my WAP phone." Screenshot.
Double-jointed laptop prototype from Intel.

From Intel, a prototype of a double-jointed laptop code-named "Florence" that resembles a convertible Tablet PC, but with an extra twist (literally):

Florence will be able to work like a regular notebook with a keyboard, or users can enter data using a pen. The machine will include a variety of input-output ports such as USB (universal serial bus). One of two sets of hinges built into Florence's chassis, allows a person to open the screen and turn it into a writing tablet. This transformation is achieved by folding back the screen--rotating it backward nearly 360 degrees--so that its cover touches the bottom of the chassis. An additional set of hinges separates the keyboard from its bed so that it swings out from underneath. These hinges allow the keyboard enough movement to fold over a portion of the screen.
Read [Thanks, Mike]
