Scoble Junkie
I have 3 favorites when it comes to blogs (in other words, the one's I read daily). The Scobleizer Weblog is probably the top one. Many folks around Microsoft read his too by the amount of "Hey Thomas, did you see what Scoble said about x?" that I get. There is so much I want to respond to but they guy cranks out a lot of posts. So I will do some quick hits:
- For those who say you are a Microsoft homer, I don't agree. You call them like you see them. You have always given the good, bad and the ugly. The reason most people give you grief is because when you give the ugly you are not being ugly about it. Sidenote: Let me give readers a tip - if you come at me yelling about how Microsoft is the Evil Empire, I am less likely to go to the ends of the Empire for your cause. If you say "Here are some issues I have with Microsoft, here is what I think you can do..." then I am more than willing to have a Starbucks with you and take it back to those that can make a difference.
- Regarding your post on Longhorn, Microsoft does have an Evangelism team for Longhorn (just as I am one for the .NET Framework Evangelism Team). I think it is very important to evangelize to our own teams within Microsoft. You might be surprised, but sometimes they are some of the toughest customers to evangelize to. Most people think that an edict comes down that says "Everyone must use our new technology x, so it shall be written, so it shall be done!" Not the case. We have to evangelize to them as well and have to deal with issues such timeframes, deployment costs, skills updating, etc. If I can't convince my own family, how can I convince others?
- "If I were an evangelist for Microsoft, I'd make sure you had at least one Tablet loaded up with Longhorn and Visual Studio.NET" - I have sent this to my boss immediately for the next hardware refresh!
Scoble, keep us on our toes and look forward to your next post...

.NET Rocks
Carl Franklin and Mark Dunn put together a show called .NET Rocks! and it does. Now if you are not one of those uptight folks who gets upset that they aren't talking "BitShifting and the ISerializable interfaces" type stuff every second, then this is the show for you. It covers .NET from a developer perspective but also focuses on a variety of subjects such as business drivers, chance meetings with BillG, tips/tricks and more. The audio show can be streamed using Windows Media or you can download it in an MP3 format. I typically download it and then put it on my MP3 player and listen to it on the airplane. Just got done listening to the Alan Cooper interview which is great. Will be checking out the Scott Hanselman and Bill Vaughn interview soon.
