"Edgy" YA books in the news again
Teen novel sales soar as stories get sexier, more timely
"Book covers with bare legs, bikini tops, shiny leather handbags -- no, it's not "Sex in the City" but "Gossip Girl," one of the new, definitely grown-up series of novels for the 12-to-18 crowd."
"Books that look like adult ones, and sound like them, too, are the route publishers are following these days to attract teenage readers."
"Called the "Young Adult" market, the field was considered all but dead five years ago, but has been revitalized with an edgier tone." (from The Post-Gazette) [LISNews.com]

Librarians Book Club Selects Reading for June
The current book selections for the Librarians Book Club are Smart Mobs: The Next Social Revolution and From Gutenberg to the Global Information Infrastructure: Access to Information in the Networked World. [LISNews.com]
These books look good, but would I really be able to get through them in this month of the end of the school year, writing of reports, etc.? Probably not. Maybe in July, when I'm travelling, visiting family, and taking an online course -- maybe then I'll have time.

This looks good, but I can't figure out how much it costs. The site offers a free trial, so I assume that the whole thing isn't free. I like to have all the information up front.
