Guilty plea in Kinko's keystroke caper. Raked in 450 online banking passwords [The Register]
We got hit with a key logger at work. Some idiot trying to get the serial number to our Pro version of Adobe Acrobat. But this article at least gave me a lead on a defense against these insidious key logging programs. I'm going to try the free version on my laptop at work, then decide if we need to go further and put one on all our WinXP machines. The machine that was hit at work however was a Mac, I was a little surprised anyone would write a key logger for Mac OS X, but I guess it was probably adapted from a FreeBSD or Linux key logging facility.

RIAA boasts of nailing 1000 music-lovers in 'new Prohibition' jihad. And you're next [The Register]
First they came for my neighbors,... and I thought wow that's a shame. Then they came for me and I was dumbstruck. I think I can say without too much fear of reprisal or contradiction that we are in a period in history much like Weimar Germany in 1930. When is the U.S. Capitol going to be burned down and a state of emergency declared? Oh, that's right, that must have been the Sept. 11 attacks on the WTC and Pentagon. Sorry my bad, the state of emergency already exists, and now the RIAA is coming in and capitalizing on the reign of terror. Good going guys, that's some kind of timing you have there, you opportunistic pigs.
