LISP Resurgence As much as I'd love to see a resurgence in LISP there are two practical considerations (at least) that seem to prevent it:
- Intrinsic support on majority of platforms (Java sort of has this problem as it is and it had a much bigger push than LISP ever did) - Writing good LISP programs is hard. It's the old efficiency problem. I've seen many an average programmer write terrible LISP programs.
Until there's a way around those problems I don't have high hopes for LISP ever entering the mainstream (more so than it already has).
