because what if revolution were simply a matter of finding the right dance? sant ambroeus was a popstar. franny, i'm sorry but i know you can't see my world too clear. "quin, I stood there on Broadway and i thought: 'these people have lived their whole lives here.'" not very likely. and there ain't no very good future got suits in it. or popstars.

this is a  special double edition blog in red for ms. mirlani santos (sp?) who with her beautiful sister christiani have been stars in my movie of new york. it's pride day. beth comes in from the kitchen and says: "damn, freddy mercurey(sp?) really could sing." i say: "yeah, it's a pity he didn't have any taste cos he would've been sort of good." beth responds philosophically: "that's how it is with people with talent. they often have no taste." she's thinking specfically of singers she's known.

"he's a star," says neel from travis. ball of twine girl picked up tickets for aaron and neel from travis and me and baby to go see pere ubu at wetlands. neel likes that big boy who fronts pere ubu because he's got a takecharge attitude. aaron and neel they hate the jamband that open the show for their display of nonchalance. "you can't do that, quin. you have to hit the audience real hard with your best stuff," says one of them. i am, of course, aghast; but utterly invisible as well. (i theorize the sound of no control.)

"it was a very good experience because there is soo much control involved," says gustavo of the experience of playing for theater. i am, of course aghast. the brazilian musicians i have known surprise with their reverence. doing without reverencs is absolutely the secret of jazz hot and cool it seems to me. mine is a trickster deity. "that is the kind of building I like, quin," says brian(sp?) pointing at those horrible fascist white international towers above NYU (we're on his roof). (in my mind): "yeah, child, i know, but you're cute and i like you anyway." i theorize the sound of no control.

"suits have their place, quin. they're useful." franny from travis is explaining things to me at the bar of the wetlands. it's a year after ball of twine girl took neel there and now travis the stars. franny knows suits are useful but he can't see them. he eyes the crowd at wetlands "which ones are industry, quin? in london i can see them. but here.." "franny, it's not eight o'clock of a thursday evening. i'm guessing their all fucking industry." i theorize the sound of no control and i question why gothic should get necessarily industrialised the way it does because that is not how my very gothic mind works at all.

you tie me up. you tie me down.

one of the fruits of beth's researches into t.v.songs is you start to get an idea of the minimalistic issues involved in the composition of, say, the Batman song.

you keep my feet down on the ground.
