Bourne Supremacy
I took the boys to see The Bourne Supremacy today. It was a good thriller, but not as good as the first. The shaky camera style just made the boys dizzy. I saw some trailers for some upcoming movies that look interesting - The Terminal, Alien Vs. Predator, The Village & Oceans 12

Saints sting disappointing Dockers
St Kilda has warmed up for its first finals series since 1998, and dealt Fremantle's finals hopes a considerable blow with a 29-point win at Telstra Dome. While the win is unlikely to earn the Saints a home final in the first week, it will do their confidence a world of good, but the Dockers must now hope the Western Bulldogs to beat Essendon by more than 19 points on Sunday to remain in the hunt. After an even first quarter, the Saints broke the game open with a four-goal burst early in the second term. Goals to Nick Dal Santo Justin Koschitzke (2) and Aaron Hamill turned a four-point quarter time margin into a clear lead for the home side. The Dockers tried to rally, kicking majors through Luke Webster and Jeff Farmer, but faced a 23-point deficit at the main break. The midfield duo of Lenny Hayes and Brett Voss were causing the trouble, setting the Saints forwards up beautifully. Fraser Gehrig booted four goals for the match, including two in the first half and then the first of the third term as the Saints got right on top. Dal Santo kicked his second before Milne added another and the Saints lead was out beyond seven goals. But to the Dockers credit, they continued to plug away and with successive majors to Des Headland, Paul Haselby and Troy Simmonds reduced the margin back to 22 points at the final change. However with the first two goals of the final term through Andrew Thompson and Koschitzke, the Saints sealed the 17.10 (112) to 12.11 (83) result.

Lions maul upstart Saints
Brisbane have arrested their recent goal-kicking woes and leapfrogged St Kilda into second spot on the AFL ladder at the same time with a dominant 45-point win over the Saints at the Gabba on Sunday. Flamboyant midfielder Jason Akermanis kicked six goals for the Lions who overcame a sluggish start to romp to a 20.10 (130) to 13.7 (85) triumph. [More]

Going to the the Sunshine Coast for ANZ Partner Conference
On Sunday I jump on a Jetstar flight bound for the the Sunshine Coast (Coolum in particular) for the ANZ Partner Conference 2004. Last year this event was on the Gold Coast. I am a speaker again this year. I'm missing the game between the Lions and the Saints and I am not happy about that! Methinks it time to invest in a AM/FM radio. Lucky for me I will be able to watch online AND I also get DVD of the game from sportsdelivered. [listening to: For Once in My Life - Michael Bublé ]5:49:36 PM |

Olympics off & running
The Athen Summer Olympics are off and running. I've been looking for apps to keep me up to date and so far I have found two which help get results onto my XDA II
I already use Infuzer for weather information. I like it. They have introduced a "premium service" which pops olympic events schedules and results directly into my calendar. This rocks

off to see the saints in melbourne
I'm heading down the Melbourne this weekend with my big boy Billy to see the Saints play the Kangaroos at Telstra Dome on Sunday, This is a surprise trip for Billy - my gift to him for his birthday. The good news is that Round 20 is a Designated Home Game even though it is an away game for the Saints I wont get a chance to post until I get back from Melbourne on Sunday evening!

Seven loses Olympic fight
I saw this headline - Seven loses Olympic fight - and was intrigued. As I read the story, I couldnt believe that the Seven Network was trying to block online coverage of the Olympics. That's like Mr Burns wanting the block the sun. When will TV networks realise that "online" is here to stay? People will still watch the crappy coverage on the telly even when they know the result. BTW - this is the site they wanted to block FOXSPORTS.com.au's Olympics coverage

Saints hold off fighting Crows
The Saints bounced back from a last-start loss to come up trumps 14.7 (91) to 10.8 (68). Dual Browlow Medallist Robert Harvey led the way with 37 disposals and two goals, while full-forward Fraser Gehrig booted five majors. The result pushes the Saints back to the top of the competition ladder, although Melbourne can again push clear with a win over Port Adelaide on Sunday. [more]

The Cats trailed by 2 points at 1/2 time but led by 5 points at 3/4 time and held on to record a thrilling 7 point victory. All well and good if you are a Geelong supporter. Not a good result for a Saints fan

Today my little
St Kilda has ground out a 23-point win over Adelaide at York Park in Tasmania to keep its hopes of a top two finish alive.
