Saints storm into semis

Aaron Hamill"St Kilda has set up a Wizard Cup semi-final showdown with Essendon after an effortless 62-point win over Richmond at Telstra Dome. The precocious Saints were at their very best against a Richmond side, which lacked the class to match their opposition.

On the back of a powerful forward line performance, St Kilda led by 25 points at the first change and rarely looked like being headed from that point, eventually winning 2.15.11 (119) to 1.7.6 (57)." [more]

FOX SPORTS | Saints cruise into Wizard semis

"St Kilda 2.15.11 (119) Richmond 1.7.6 (57) ST KILDA will meet Essendon in the AFL Wizard Cup semi-finals next Saturday night after a comfortable 62-point win over Richmond at Telstra Dome today. The Saints, rich in developing talent, seized the initiative early in the match and thereafter held the Tigers at arms length throughout. St Kilda jumped the Tigers early, showing more polish in their forward movements, to lead by 20 points inside eight minutes, and with Fraser Gehring kicking three goals, established a 25-point lead at the first change." Saints in the Wizard spotlight

Brent GuerraSt Kilda has powered into the semi-finals of the Wizard Home Loans Cup on the back of a potent forward line which looks capable of troubling just about every AFL side this season.

The Saints sheer number of attacking options overwhelmed Richmond in Sunday night's quarter-final to set up a mouth-watering semi-final clash with Essendon next Saturday night. [more]

Saints run all over the tigers

The saints beat the tigers pretty easily this evening -- 119 to 57 points.

That's a pretty good result -- pity I cant see it on the telly until midnight tonight

My email to foxfooty.tv

I'm still angry about the crappy tv scheduling for the upcoming wizard cup game this weekend. I was inspired to write an email to foxfooty.

Here it is:

dear foxfooty

all i can say is you guys suck!

2 weeks in a row you are showing the stkilda game at close to midnight - over 6 hours delayed

why???

i live in nsw and am a stkilda member and feel i am being discriminated against. why such shabby scheduling???

surely its not because channel 10 has to show it first - they have the game on even later

from the afl.com.au website  : Week Two TV Schedule

Sunday (N)

FTA – Channel 10

Broadcast Time

St Kilda v Richmond

23:45 (Del – 6 hrs 35 mins)

PAY - Foxtel

Broadcast Time

St Kilda v Richmond

23:30 (Del - 6 hrs 20 mins)

is this going to be the case during the season proper too?? how disappointing

I wonder if I will get a response?????

I got the book!!!

So, I admit it, I am a footy tragic.

A few weeks back I whinged about not being able to get my hands on the AFL 2004 Statistics book.

Well, thanks to a few contributing factoring factors, I found myself in Melbourne this week and I was able to purchase this book.

<BEGIN RANT>
I can't believe it is so hard for those of us not fortunate enough to live in Melbourne. It's that mypoic thinking that is not allowing this to be a national football code, as far as I am concerned. And another thing, my team is again being show on the telly at 11.30PM on Sunday night AGAIN on Channel 10 and Fox Footy - this is just crap. So it's live on the telly into Melbourne - big deal. Show it at a reasonable time in NSW for goodness sakes - not like there are other games competing for attention.

Saints hold on for win

Lenny Hayes Good start to the pre-season by the sainters .

I haven't seen the game because those rocket scientists that program these sort of things have the game starting at 11.30pm on Fox Footy and on 12.10am on Channel 10. It will be one for the vcr to capture.

Next week, the boys meet the Tigers on Sunday afternoon -- I wonder if I will get to see that live?

Footy's Back

This weekend sees the pre-season competition start. We have already had 2 games - Essendon defeated Freo and Richmond defeated the Bulldogs.

My boys take on Adelaide on Sunday afternoon. Pity I can't see the game on the telly until after midnight on Sunday!

Ahh footy, I've missed you

Footy's bible - AFL 2004 on sale again

I saw that headline on afl.com.au and I was sooo excited. I love that book and have purchased it every year. However, it has never been an easy task, since I live in Sydney and this book doesn't cross the Murray as quickly as we would like.

So each year, I try to work out ways to buy it -- via mailorder, or I beg my sister to get for me and send it up, or I beg my work colleagues in Melbourne. I even aranged a work trip to Melbourne so that I could buy it when I was down there. I tell you, it isn't easy!

I go to online retailers like Dymocks or Angus & Robertsons or Collins Bookstore and they dont even have it listed! At least QBDBookstore has a listing but they arent shipping until March! I have even tracked down the book on the publishers website, because I know it's ISBN number 0958030057, but still I can't buy it.

Argghhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!

What is wrong with the country when a fellow can't even buy a stinking book when he wants one!!!!!
